About the Job

From September, our client is looking forward to leaving their hometown in Northumberland and starting her English Literature and Theatre Studies Degree at University of Warwick. Our client will be staying in a university student accommodation. She is looking to build a strong team of liked minded, compassionate and fun personal care assistant to support her with personal care and daily living. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference in our client's life. She is a wonderful individual, who is looking for a team of likeminded, caring PAs to assist with:

- Personal Care

- Health Care

- Social Support

- Support around the university

- Daily Living

- Housekeeping / Domestic duties

- Commuting / to university medical appointments, social events

About our client

Our client is a bubbly, creative individual who is passionate about Literature and Theatre, as well as performing. In her spare time, she unwinds by reading a book or writing. Our client is also a huge music lover and particularly enjoys listening to Pop, Indie and musicals such as Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridges or Arianna Grande. She would love to join uni societies such as Drama Society, Musical Theatre and Playwrighting society! Having a team of PAs that share similar interests would be a bonus!

Our client’s family home is based Northumberland, and she is hoping to visit her family during off term time. She is looking for flexible PAs, who would be happy to travel back home with her and support her in Northumberland during off term time.

As written by our client…

“Musical Theatre, performance, reading, writing, directing, producing, acting and singing are particular passions of mine and I would like to think there are kindred spirits that would like to share this journey with me. I intend to join multiple societies – whether it’s the Warwick Arts and Drama Group or the Taylor Swift society I intend to enjoy my time in between studies.

As I’ll literally be going from zero to 100% in terms of my care support, it’s important to me that whoever I share this journey with can demonstrate compassion, discretion and patience, is a good listener and understand that this may be just as awkward for them as it will me in the first instance!

I would like to use the opportunity to expand my horizons while at university, introduce regular activities such as swimming to my weekly routine and have the courage to explore beyond the boundaries of the university campus to attend gigs, performance or nights out, just as all other fresher students would when away from home for the first time.

My intellectual and mental capacity are unaffected by my condition, but I do need assistance with most aspects of daily living due to underlying muscle weakness.”

Care experience is not required as full training of our client's particular requirements will be provided.

An Ideal Pa will:

  • Encourage/enable our client to explore her newfound independence!
  • Be enthusiastic in helping her to make the most of her university experience
  • Communicate openly, and be unafraid of asking questions/exploring different routines
  • Be patient, kind and reasonable
  • Understand (and preferably share!) our client’s sense of humour
  • Take initiative, but also appreciate our client’s autonomy
  • Be a good listener
  • Non-Smoker
  • Be able to tolerate her constant bursting into song!
  • Hold a clean driving licence (Desirable but not essential)

Application Process: To apply, please submit a cover letter describing your interests and explaining why you would be a suitable candidate for this unique and rewarding position.
