Are you a passionate and creative Art and Design teacher ready to lead a thriving department and inspire the next generation of designers? Long Term Futures is working with a successful secondary school in Coventry (CV2) seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Design to join their team from January or April 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented teacher or subject leader to take the next step in their career, providing dynamic leadership within a supportive and forward-thinking school community.



Your Role

  • Lead and develop the Art and Design department to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons

  • Inspire creativity, innovation, and a love of learning among students

  • Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and resource management

  • Support and develop teaching staff to ensure excellent classroom practice

  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders to raise standards and promote achievement



What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and strong classroom experience within Art and Design

  • A proven track record of delivering outstanding results and raising achievement

  • Experience leading a team or mentoring colleagues within a department

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills

  • A creative, forward-thinking teacher who can inspire both students and staff
