Job overview
We are looking for an experienced and skilled Tube Setter/Bender to join our team in Coventry. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating machinery to cut, grind, notch, and bend metal tubes to create high-quality chassis and other parts for the Land Rover aftermarket.
This is a full-time, permanent position after a 13-week temporary-to-permanent period. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, precision, and a commitment to quality.
Key responsibilities
- Machine setup: Set up and operate tube bending, cutting, notching, and grinding machines according to technical drawings and job orders.
- Fabrication: Manipulate and shape metal tubes to precise specifications, ensuring that all components meet quality standards.
- Quality control: Inspect all finished parts to ensure they meet the required dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on machinery to ensure optimal performance and a safe working environment.
- Material handling: Prepare and organise raw materials and manage finished components efficiently.
- Safety compliance: Adhere to all company health and safety procedures and guidelines.
Skills and qualifications
- Proven experience as a Tube Setter/Bender or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and job orders accurately.
- Proficiency in operating tube bending machinery and associated tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong manual dexterity.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Working hours and pay
- Hourly rate: 14.00 to 15.00 per hour (before deductions), depending on experience.
- Weekly hours: 38 hours per week.
- Shift pattern:
- Monday-Thursday: 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
- Friday: 7:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. (early finish)
- Pay cycle: Weekly, paid every Thursday, one week in arrears.
