Orion is proud to be working with a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing company based in Coventry. We are currently seeking a skilled and methodical Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join their growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and ambitious Maintenance Engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Shift Pattern:
3-week rotating shifts (Monday to Friday):
- Week 1: 7am – 3pm
- Week 2: 3pm – 11pm
- Week 3: 11pm – 7am
Key Responsibilities:
- Reactive maintenance of machinery including boilers, steam pumps, conveyors, and extractors
- 80% mechanical / 20% electrical maintenance
- Conducting PPMs and line improvement tasks
- Fault finding using PLCs
- Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics
- Implementing solutions to reduce downtime in line with engineering strategy
- Root cause analysis to improve plant performance
- Supporting machine setup with operations team
- Delivering a first-class engineering service
What We’re Looking For:
- Recognised mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 3, BTEC Level 3 or equivalent)
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills
- PLC experience
- Proven experience in machinery maintenance (PPMs and reactive)
- Background in FMCG environments
- Passion for continuous improvement
