Freelance Site Manager – Timber Frame Housing Project (12-Month Contract)

Location: Coventry 
Duration: 12 months (Freelance / Contract)
Rate: £280- £300 a day 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of a new timber frame housing development. This is a 12-month freelance contract managing the project from groundwork through to handover. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day site operations, health and safety compliance, subcontractor coordination, and ensuring programme and quality targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all on-site construction activities for a timber frame housing scheme

• Coordinate trades, subcontractors, and site staff to maintain progress and standards

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations

• Oversee quality control and ensure adherence to design specifications

• Liaise with project managers, architects, and clients to provide progress updates

• Manage site documentation, permits, and reporting requirements

• Drive the project to meet key milestones and handover deadlines

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on residential or timber frame housing projects

• Strong understanding of timber frame construction methods

• Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications

• Excellent organisational and leadership skills

• Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain a high standard of workmanship

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
