Were working with a long-established sub-contract precision machining company in Coventry, known for high-quality, small batch and prototype work. With steady growth and a skilled team in place, they're now looking for a Production Manager to oversee day-to-day operations on the shop floor keeping jobs on track, leading from the front, and driving quality.
What's on Offer:
- Salary: £40,000 £50,000 (paid as hourly rate, able to earn overtime)
- Overtime: Available regularly, paid at enhanced rates
- Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 07:30 16:30
- Friday: 07:30 12:30 (early finish)
- Contract: Full-time, permanent
- Environment: Precision sub-contract engineering, small batch & prototype work
The Role - Production Manager:
As Production Manager, you'll be:
- Leading a team of 10 CNC machinists
- Supporting and supervising all aspects of production, quality and scheduling
- Providing technical guidance on CNC programming, setting and machining
- Overseeing job priorities, workflow, and job allocation
- Liaising with management and customers to ensure accurate lead times
- Ensuring health & safety, quality control and good communication across the team
- Remaining hands-on when needed this is a working management role
You'll Need:
- Background as a CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator ideally on Fanuc-controlled milling machines
- Experience in small batch and prototype machining
- Previous leadership, supervisory or team lead experience (essential)
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, tooling and CAD/CAM software (Powermill experience beneficial)
- A practical, hands-on approach and strong communication skills
- Organised, proactive, and quality-driven
