Job Title: Quality Inspector
Contract: 6 Monts initially
Location: Ansty Park, Coventry
Rate: 20.36/hour, increasing to 21.07/hour once trained.
Shift pattern: 6am - 2pm (early finish Friday)
Overview:
We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team for a 6-month contract. You will inspect a range of parts and assemblies, ensuring products conform to company procedures, quality standards, and customer specifications. This role involves using a variety of manual and machine inspection equipment, working to tight deadlines, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect components and assemblies using manuals, engineering drawings, work instructions, and inspection control plans
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to assess product conformity
Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) principles
Use inspection equipment: calipers, micrometers, FARO arm, XRF technology, hardness testers, etc.
Raise non-conformance and quality notification documentation with clear statements
Operate ERP/data collection tools including SAP and Visual FAI
Carry out and support Safety, Quality, TPM, and 5S activities
Participate in and drive process improvement and problem-solving activities
Conduct product/process audits and contribute to team improvement efforts
Work to agreed production plans and ensure efficient product flow
Attend shift briefings and other team meetings as required
Maintain end-of-shift clean down to meet 5S standards
Follow company policies and support a culture of safety and continuous improvement
Key Outputs:
Inspection of components in line with production schedules
Clean and organized work area at the end of each shift
Timely raising of safety or product concerns
Support for continuous improvement and team problem-solving activities
Requirements:
Engineering apprenticeship (desirable) or relevant training/experience
1 year of experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment
Experience as a quality inspector in aerospace (preferred)
Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings
Skilled in use of inspection/test equipment and measurement tools
Good IT skills (SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Q-Pulse)
SPC and GD&T trained
IT literate and familiar with a variety of systems and databases
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High level of accountability and results orientation
