?? Python Engineer - Coventry Area | £50,000 - £70,000 | Hybrid Working | Software House

I'm currently recruiting for a well-established software house based near Coventry that's looking to hire a Python Engineer to join their growing development team. This company is known for delivering high-quality, specialist software projects across a range of sectors, and they're looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative, technically focused environment.

If you're someone who enjoys solving real-world problems with clean, efficient code - and you're comfortable working across both back-end and front-end technologies - this could be a great move for you.

?? What You'll Be Doing:

You'll join an experienced team of engineers working on a variety of complex, specialist projects - everything from bespoke applications to systems integration and platform development. The work is varied and challenging, and you'll be encouraged to bring ideas to the table, contribute to design discussions, and take ownership of your code.

You'll be working in a Linux-based environment, primarily with Python, but also getting involved with networking elements and some front-end work using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

?? Required Skillset:

To hit the ground running, you'll need experience with:

  • Python - strong coding skills, ideally working on complex systems or scalable platforms

  • Linux - confident working in a Unix/Linux development environment

  • Networking - solid understanding of network protocols, configurations, and system-level troubleshooting

  • Front-end basics - knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to support UI integration and development

Bonus points if you have experience with REST APIs, containerisation (Docker), or automated testing frameworks.

?? Why This Role?

  • Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 depending on experience

  • Hybrid working available - the team is flexible and open to a mix of office and remote working

  • Low-ego, technically focused team - you'll be working with people who care deeply about building great software

  • Career development - opportunities to grow within the team and expand your skillset

This is an ideal position for someone who wants to work on meaningful, technical projects in a supportive environment that encourages innovation and autonomy.

?? Location:

  • Office based near Coventry

  • Hybrid setup - typically 2-3 days in the office per week, but flexible based on individual needs

? Who Would This Suit?

Whether you're a mid-level developer ready for your next step or a senior engineer looking for a fresh challenge, this role would suit someone who:

  • Loves building robust, scalable systems

  • Has a strong understanding of Python and Linux environments

  • Enjoys working on diverse and challenging projects

  • Values working in a close-knit team where your input matters
