Are you a civil engineering professional with a passion for sustainability and reducing carbon impacts on construction projects? Our client, a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor, is seeking a Sustainability Analyst with site experience to join their expanding Sustainability Team. This is a key position supporting the delivery of low-carbon infrastructure, with a focus on collecting site-level carbon data, carrying out life cycle assessments, and supporting the implementation of net zero strategies.
The Role:
This is a role requiring site visits and is ideal for someone who understands construction environments and can engage with project teams on the ground. You'll work across a variety of live sites, supporting carbon data capture, conducting embodied carbon assessments, and assisting in the delivery of PAS 2080-compliant strategies. You'll also contribute to the organisation's wider sustainability reporting and help drive continuous improvement in operational practices.
Key Responsibilities:
路Collect and analyse carbon data from live civil engineering sites
路Support project teams in understanding and implementing carbon reduction practices
路Conduct life cycle assessments (LCAs) on construction materials and processes
路Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate carbon reporting
路Contribute to SECR, ESOS and other regulatory reporting obligations
路Work to PAS 2080 standards for carbon management in infrastructure
路Assist with the implementation of net zero strategies at a project level
路Support the commercial and procurement teams by providing sustainability input for tenders, including carbon data, life cycle assessments, and net zero commitments
路Use modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to support carbon assessments where required
路Edit and manage sustainability documents and submissions using PDF tools
路Stay informed on relevant standards, legislation, and industry best practice
Requirements:
路Background in civil engineering, construction, or a related field
路Prior site-based experience on infrastructure or construction projects is essential
路Strong knowledge of carbon reporting and life cycle assessment methodologies
路Familiar with PAS 2080, GHG Protocol, and net zero principles
路Ability to work confidently across sites and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
路Proficient in PDF editing tools and competent in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
路Experience with modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD or Revit) is desirable
路Strong analytical and communication skills
路Self-motivated, practical, and keen to drive sustainable change at the project level
