Key responsibilities
As a CNC Grinder, you will be responsible for the precision grinding of small, high-tolerance components, including those used in Brake Management Systems and hydraulic valve assemblies. You will work with both CNC and manual grinding machines, ensuring all parts meet strict quality and dimensional standards.
Other duties include:
- Operate CNC grinding machines: Studer S33, Studer S21, and perform manual grinding as required.
- Work with small, complex aerospace components
- Set up machines, tooling, and fixtures accurately
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Conduct in-process quality checks using micrometers, air gauges, dial bore gauges, etc.
- Work collaboratively with production, quality, and engineering teams
- Maintain accurate inspection and production records
Skills required:
- Experience operating CNC grinding machines
- Background in precision grinding of small components
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and GD&T
- Skilled in using a range of precision measurement tools
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Willingness to learn match grinding - full training will be provided
