Fabrication & Welding Supervisor
Location: Coventry
Salary: Up to £50,000 basic DOE (£20–£24 per hour) +
Regular overtime on offer @ time & half Mon-Sat & double time Sunday (4 hours overtime Saturday to be worked to qualify for double time Sunday)

The Role
As the Fabrication & Welding Supervisor, you will oversee a team of around 30 welders and fabricators, ensuring productivity, quality standards, and safety compliance across the workshop. You will drive operational performance, support continuous improvement, and maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout the department.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise a team of approx. 30 welders/fabricators to meet production targets and deadlines

Maximise workflow efficiency and ensure high levels of productivity

Maintain and improve quality standards across all welding and fabrication activities

Ensure all staff are trained and competent to required standards

Work independently, using initiative to solve problems and improve processes

Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities

Uphold and promote company and client standards, guidelines, and best practices

Produce performance reports, KPIs, and documentation when required

Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety requirements and safe working procedures
Skills & Experience Required
-
Proven experience as a Welding Supervisor, Fabrication Supervisor, or Engineering Team Leader within a manufacturing or engineering environment

Strong hands-on experience in welding and fabrication (MIG, TIG, MMA)

Ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings and welding symbols

Experience in either high-volume fabrication or custom/precision fabrication environments

Solid understanding of HSE regulations and safe working practices in welding and fabrication

Formal welding qualifications (coded welder status or equivalent)

Time-served apprenticeship / NVQ / City & Guilds in Welding or Fabrication
