We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and functionality of our outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of landscape maintenance, groundskeeping, and the use of various hand and power tools. Hours: 07:00 - 15:30 Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: 12.60 per hour
Responsibilities
- Perform regular groundskeeping tasks including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns.
- Maintain flower beds, shrubs, and trees through planting, watering, and pruning.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete maintenance tasks.
- Irrigate gardens and landscaped areas to ensure optimal growth.
- Dig holes for planting or other landscaping needs as required.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Clear debris from pathways, gardens, and other outdoor areas to maintain cleanliness.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools commonly used in gardening and landscaping.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic equipment issues is advantageous.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong physical stamina to perform manual labour including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods.
- A keen eye for detail to ensure high standards of maintenance are met.
- A valid driving licence may be required for operating company vehicles.
