Job Details

JobMatcha are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in South Wales. you will be responsible for installing (small amount), maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in various settings in and around the rail (mainly back of house) and its group district estate. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Information:

  • Working across South Wales but works shall be prioritised and designed to ensure efficient and economic travel from your home address as much as possible. However, from time to time and in the event of emergencies further travel may be required to meet demand and target SLA times.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with local building codes and safety regulations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals to determine the layout of electrical systems.
  • Perform regular inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify and resolve issues before they become emergencies.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other tradespeople to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
  • Provide guidance and training to apprentices and less experienced electricians as needed.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in electrical systems and technology.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, explain proposed solutions, and address any concerns.

Competencies and Requirements for the position:

  • Valid Electrician License
  • Solid Health & Safety awareness
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an electrician in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Rail sector working would be beneficial.
  • 17th / 18th Edition IEE Regs along with other Electrical Engineering qualifications
  • Must have Right to Work in the UK
