Interaction Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established client in the metal cutting and manufacturing industry. We are seeking an experienced Manual Turner to join a skilled and supportive engineering team, working with high-precision machinery to deliver parts that meet stringent specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate conventional turning lathes and Webster & Bennett borers to produce precision metal components.

  • Accurately set up workpieces using lifting equipment where required.

  • Interpret technical drawings and route cards to understand machining requirements.

  • Execute machining operations to precise tolerances, maintaining a high standard of quality throughout.

  • Perform self-inspection using hand tools such as micrometers and verniers to ensure dimensional accuracy.

  • Keep your work area clean and well-organized in line with site standards.

  • Follow company procedures and policies related to quality, health & safety, and operational best practices.

What We're Looking For:

  • Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification.

  • Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in a similar role within metal manufacturing or machining.

  • Confident in reading and working from technical drawings.

  • Trained in manual handling, with overhead crane operation experience preferred.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong team player with a proactive approach to work and flexibility to assist across departments when needed.

  • Comfortable using computers, with good general IT knowledge and experience working with reporting systems.
