Leader Education is recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support students with SEND and challenging behaviour. This school is based in Cramlington, Northumberland. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with special educational needs.
- Assist students in managing challenging behaviour using positive strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Work closely with teaching staff and SENCOs to implement tailored learning plans.
- Support students in building confidence, independence, and social skills.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with SEND students or young people with additional needs (school, youth work, care, or similar).
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive when faced with challenging behaviour.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A caring, resilient, and proactive approach.
