Our client is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Vehicle Technician to join their team in conducting static and dynamic evaluations of vehicles, ensuring they meet the needs of European customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with Test/Design Engineers to conduct tests according to the client's standards and local operating procedures.
- Assemble and disassemble parts, components, or vehicles for static and dynamic test activities.
- Maintain the Test Vehicle Fleet, including safety checks, retrofits, and repairs.
- Set up instrumentation, such as dataloggers and video cameras.
- Support report writing and contribute to the achievement of Key Performance Indicators for the section.
- Learn bespoke systems required to fulfil the role.
- Prepare, build, and maintain vehicles or components for testing in accordance with local procedures and the client's Engineering Manuals.
- Support testing in static and dynamic conditions to gather accurate, timely, and quality test data and results.
- Assist in evaluating and identifying concerns, including liaising with the Test Engineer.
- Utilise skills to provide support to other sections as required.
- Demonstrate a passion for automotive performance and technologies.
- Formulate constructive opinions regarding automotive products and communicate subjective data clearly.
- Possess proficiency in practical mechanical and electrical skills required for this role.
- Work safely and comply with legal and company safety policies.
- Possess excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Be able to work independently and manage and prioritise their own time and workload.
- Have a fundamental understanding of vehicle architecture.
- Possess vehicle system knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Use skills to provide support to other test sections as required.
- A fundamental understanding of vehicle architecture.
- Proficient in mechanical and electrical skills.
- Experience in vehicle or component test environments (preferred but not essential).
- Basic knowledge of component measurement techniques (preferred but not essential).
- Computer literate (word processing/Excel).
- Full UK manual/auto driving licence.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload.
- Willingness to travel internationally to support testing.
- A passion for automotive performance and technologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- C&G/BTEC L3 in mechanical or automotive engineering with a recognised apprenticeship (preferred).
