SEN Teacher - Cranleigh

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored lessons that cater to the individual needs and abilities of students with special educational needs.
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (e.g., sensory, behavioural advice, counselling) to teach students with varying disabilities.
  • Assess students’ abilities and craft teaching plans that address their specific educational needs.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure that students receive the support they need.
  • Create and maintain a safe, clean, and effective learning environment which respects student diversity.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, ensuring to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status is required.
  • Experience in special education, particularly in a classroom setting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, creativity, and flexibility to adapt to the needs of students with varying disabilities.
