A growing client of ours who has specialized in providing transport equipment solutions to the highways industry for over 60 years. They are in the market for a Mobile Service Engineer (Highways) to work on a variety of solutions across Hampshire, Surrey, London, Kent & Sussex. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting the daily service maintenance and repair needs of the customer's equipment whilst establishing and maintaining relationships.

Day to Day Responsibilities Include:

  • Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain highway technology and traffic management equipment on-site and on highways.
  • Perform electrical/mechanical tasks, preventative maintenance, and field modifications.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and complete relevant documentation.
  • Follow RAMS and all site policies.
  • Maintain service van and tools in good condition.
  • Communicate courteously with customers and support the sales team in identifying new opportunities.
  • Estimate repair costs and provide damage reports and recommendations.
  • Comply with company Health & Safety guidelines.

The successful candidate will meet the below requirements:

  • Experience in electrical/mechanical installations and repairs.
  • Ability to read circuit diagrams and assembly drawings.
  • Qualified electrician (C&G, BS7671 latest edition, NVQ Level 3+).
  • Basic knowledge of communication networks (GPRS, Copper, FO).
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Experience with traffic management equipment, SSSTS/SMSTS, and IPAF is advantageous but not essential.
