Academics Crawley is working with a well-regarded secondary school in the Crawley area to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for a full-time position starting in September 2025.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education and keen to support students both academically and personally. Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant or a graduate considering a future in teaching, this role offers valuable experience within a supportive school setting.

You'll work alongside teachers to help deliver lessons, support students with varying needs, and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Assist the teacher with lesson preparation, behaviour management, and individualised support

  • Work one-to-one or in small groups to reinforce learning

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting

  • A genuine interest in supporting secondary-aged students

  • A valid, enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Academics)

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience working in a secondary school

  • Understanding of SEN and how to support a range of learning needs

  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development
