The Role and about the client:

ITS Building People are recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded groundworks contractor based in Horley, Surrey. Known for delivering top quality groundworks solutions to residential and commercial projects throughout Surrey and Sussex, this company has developed a strong reputation for quality, attention to detail and collaborative package delivery. They are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 18 months experience to work with their existing surveying team across multiple projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit team in a company that is looking to go to the next level over the coming year.

Key Responsibilities include, but aren't limited to;

Assisting Surveyors with commercial aspects of mid-large groundworks packages, from pre-construction to finishings.
Shadowing senior Surveyors, learning different practices and methods of working.
Processing submissions of cost variation for clients.
Working with project teams to ensure commercial and financial success.
Attending monthly commercial branch and client meetings.
Overseeing valuations, payments and final accounts.

The ideal candidate will have:

A minimum of 18 months experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor role.
Strong working knowledge of groundworks projects.
Excellent communication, negotiation and cost management skills.
A professional, collaborative approach to work.
Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
