Academics is currently recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a well-established SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Crawley. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone experienced in supporting young people with additional needs and looking to step into a more senior support role.

Main Duties:
  • Deliver small group sessions and targeted interventions

  • Support teaching staff with planning and classroom delivery

  • Work with pupils to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour

  • Assist in developing a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

  • Collaborate with staff and external professionals to meet student needs

Candidate Requirements:
  • HLTA status or relevant experience in a similar role

  • Background working with children or young people with SEMH or SEN

  • Confident supporting both learning and behaviour needs

  • Calm, resilient, and approachable with strong interpersonal skills

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
