Higher Level Teaching Assistant OR aspiring HLTA - Maths Specialist

£110-£130 per day - depending on experience and HLTA Qualification

Full-time - Term-time only - 12 months plus ongoing supply
Are you passionate about Maths and supporting secondary students to achieve their full potential?
A vibrant and inclusive 11-18 secondary school in Crawley is looking to appoint a Maths Specialist HLTA - or an experienced Maths Tutor or Learning Support Assistant (LSA) ready to progress into a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role.
In this role, you'll:
- Deliver small-group Maths interventions at KS3, KS4 and KS5
- Support students with SEND and additional learning needs
- Assist with whole-class cover when required
- Contribute to personalised learning plans and academic progress
- Work closely with the Maths and SEND departments
- Support team planning and the deployment of learning support staff (LSA)
Ideal candidates will have:
- HLTA qualification, OR experience as a secondary LSA, cover supervisor, or tutor
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths
- Experience delivering numeracy support or Maths catch-up sessions
- Understanding of different pupil profiles and classroom strategies
- A proactive, patient and professional approach
- Must have a DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
