Purpose of the Role
Accountable for site performance. To oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring operational excellence, profitability, and compliance high-quality vehicle repairs, efficient workflow, and compliance with health and safety standards. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management
- Plan and organise daily workshop activities to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
- Allocate jobs to technicians based on skill and workload.
- Monitor repair progress and ensure timely completion.
- Quality Control
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer standards and customer expectations.
- Conduct final inspections before vehicles are released.
- Team Leadership
- Manage, motivate, and develop workshop staff.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training where needed.
- Customer Service
- Liaise with customers and insurance companies regarding repair status and queries.
- Resolve complaints promptly and professionally.
- Compliance & Safety
- Maintain a safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment.
- Financial & Administrative Duties
- Monitor workshop costs and control budgets.
- Maintain accurate records of jobs, parts, and labour.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in bodyshop or automotive workshop management.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle body repair processes.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and meet KPIs.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
