Job Title: Highway Design Engineer (Inside IR35)
Rate: 30/hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 3 Months Initially (likely to extend)
Location: Office based in Crewe (Hybrid - Ideally 3 days/week in-office, flexible)
We are currently seeking Design Engineers at all levels (Junior to Senior) to support the delivery of a variety of transport and highway engineering schemes within a local authority setting.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking and collaborative team with a strong pipeline of projects ranging in value up to 5 million - including junction upgrades, cycling infrastructure, public realm, and local highway improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the design and delivery of highway, civil engineering, and traffic management projects.
Prepare and develop design solutions using AutoCAD and ideally Civils 3D.
Develop and manage work packages, including pre-construction information.
Maintain accurate records for all allocated schemes.
Lead or support in progressing Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs).
Manage project correspondence and stakeholder interactions, including councillors, parish councils, and the public.
Produce technical reports and attend project and stakeholder meetings.
Report to the Design Team Leader and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in highway/civil engineering design within a local authority environment.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civils 3D is highly desirable.
Solid understanding and practical experience with Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs).
Ability to manage small to large-scale projects from feasibility through to delivery.
Effective communication skills and stakeholder management.
