Travel Required: EU and UK travel required

What You'll Do:

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the development, integration, validation, and sign-off of low voltage systems across various projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • System Development: Design and validate low voltage components, both on and off the vehicle, in line with our client's product emergence process.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Electrical & Electronics, Whole Vehicle, Body & Trim, and Motion Engineering R&D departments to ensure the low voltage system meets customer and vehicle requirements.
  • Supplier Management: Coordinate with suppliers and collaborate with VW group Low Voltage System Engineers to deliver fully functional systems for future vehicles.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Deliver functional safety documentation and ensure compliance with the organisation's Golden Rules.
  • Innovate & Improve: Introduce platform changes and support the introduction of new parts, technical changes, and various project releases.

What You Bring to the Table:

We're looking for an individual with a strong background in vehicle low voltage systems. Key skills and experience include:

  • Proficiency in low voltage components, energy management software functions, and battery technologies.
  • Knowledge of medium (48V) and high voltage systems and their interactions with low voltage systems.
  • Experience with vehicle diagnostic tools (ODIS, IDEX) and electronic/electrical fault finding.
  • Familiarity with modelling and simulation for performance and ageing predictions.
  • Proficient in CAN, Flexray, and LIN bus systems, and experienced with Vector Tools such as CANape and CANoe.

Qualifications:

  • A full UK driving licence.
  • An Engineering Degree is essential.
  • High Voltage training/qualification is desirable.
  • German language skills are a plus!
