We are seeking skilled Train Paintersto join our clients team at Crewe. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in painting Trains and an understanding of various techniques and materials. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. You will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring that all work meets our high standards.

DAYS NOONS AND NIGHTS AVAILABLE

Payee

Nights Monday to Friday 9pm to 5amm, (limited by site access over main Train line )

£17.25 per hour plus £200 Shift Allowance per Week

CONTRACT

£22.25 per hour

£30 per hour after 40 hours per week.

DUTIES

- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or imperfections.
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Mix paints and other materials according to specifications.
- Ensure that all work areas are kept clean and organised during the painting process.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Perform basic maths to calculate quantities of materials needed for each job.
- Assemble and fabricate components as required for specific projects.
- Demonstrate mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the painting process.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.

Requirements
-Proven experience in painting trains is essential.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to the trade.
- Basic maths skills for measuring and calculating material requirements.
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for understanding equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to assemble and fabricate components as necessary.
- Experience with welding is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a warehouse environment.
