Powertrain Certification Engineer

Location: Crewe, Cheshire (with flexible and remote working options)Function: Technical ConformityContract Type: Ongoing Contract | Full-Time (35 hours/week)

About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Powertrain Certification Engineer to support Functional Managers with certification activities for global markets, particularly South Korea and the USA.

This role involves coordinating certification requirements, managing documentation, supporting emissions testing, and delivering technical data aligned with project milestones and gateway deliverables. You will work cross-functionally across engineering teams and external stakeholders, with potential supervision of emissions testing both in the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination and execution of vehicle certification programs
  • Procure parts, track deliverables, and manage milestone reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Deliver and maintain accurate technical documentation and data
  • Support and supervise emissions testing activities
  • Contribute to compliance and diagnostics processes

Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of vehicle systems: Powertrain, Chassis, Body, and Electrical
  • Experience in Emissions Type Approval, Certification, or legislative processes
  • Ability to develop and manage test plans (vehicles, parts, timelines)
  • Knowledge of automotive development processes and gateway reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project)
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
  • Project management experience in an automotive context is advantageous
  • Korean language skills are beneficial but not essential
