Are you an experienced Transport Planner, looking for a new opportunity ? Would you like to join a successful, family owned haulage business with a history dating back over 70 years and with a fleet of over 40 trucks, covering general haulage and pallet network operations.

The successful applicant will be joining an existing, settled team, with an excellent management structure, the business offers an excellent basic salary with a fantastic benefits package.

  • Experienced in route planning & scheduling in general haulage
  • Experience of transport management systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good geographical knowledge
  • Conscientious and reliable with a can-do attitude
  • Adaptable approach to work/ training/ working hours
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • CPC desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent IT skills

The Role

  • Effectively resolving any issues arising from customers, drivers or third parties to the satisfaction of those concerned
  • Working closely with all members of the transport team to achieve the smooth running of the daily operation whilst meeting customer requirements, company KPI's and budgetary demands.
  • Ensuring compliance with all current legislation and regulation
  • Effectively prioritise workload for yourself and your team in order to meet set deadlines
  • Deal with day to day operational issues
  • Dealing with client requests
  • Manage driver/vehicle resource to meet customer demand whilst adhering to relevant drivers' hours and WTD regulations
  • To have an active involvement, along with HR, in the management of operational staff holidays and work rotas
  • Other duties as reasonably required

Hours, Remuneration and Benefits

  • Monday to Friday - rotating shifts (7am - 5pm, 9am - 7pm) and 1 Saturday (7am-11am) in 4 in accordance with the rota
  • Salary - Up to £39,800 (depending on experience) + benefits
  • 28 days annual leave (inc bank holidays)
  • Death In Service Life Assurance
  • Full time, permanent
