Are you an experienced Transport Planner, looking for a new opportunity ? Would you like to join a successful, family owned haulage business with a history dating back over 70 years and with a fleet of over 40 trucks, covering general haulage and pallet network operations.

Key Skills
- Experienced in route planning & scheduling in general haulage
- Experience of transport management systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Good geographical knowledge
- Conscientious and reliable with a can-do attitude
- Adaptable approach to work/ training/ working hours
- Excellent attention to detail
- CPC desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent IT skills
The Role
- Effectively resolving any issues arising from customers, drivers or third parties to the satisfaction of those concerned
- Working closely with all members of the transport team to achieve the smooth running of the daily operation whilst meeting customer requirements, company KPI's and budgetary demands.
- Ensuring compliance with all current legislation and regulation
- Effectively prioritise workload for yourself and your team in order to meet set deadlines
- Deal with day to day operational issues
- Dealing with client requests
- Manage driver/vehicle resource to meet customer demand whilst adhering to relevant drivers' hours and WTD regulations
- To have an active involvement, along with HR, in the management of operational staff holidays and work rotas
- Other duties as reasonably required
Hours, Remuneration and Benefits
- Monday to Friday - rotating shifts (7am - 5pm, 9am - 7pm) and 1 Saturday (7am-11am) in 4 in accordance with the rota
- Salary - Up to £39,800 (depending on experience) + benefits
- 28 days annual leave (inc bank holidays)
- Death In Service Life Assurance
- Full time, permanent
