Pastoral Assistant

Start Date: 1st September 2025

Daily rate: 95 - 100 per day

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Term Time Only (39 weeks)

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm

Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive both emotionally and academically?

We are seeking a dedicated and approachable Pastoral Assistant to join our team. You will be a key point of contact for pupils, staff and parents/carers, helping to break down barriers to learning and fostering a positive, supportive school environment across all year groups.

Key Responsibilities

Be a visible, supportive presence around school throughout the day

Encourage positive attitudes, behaviour and engagement

Develop strategies to de-escalate conflict and manage challenging behaviour

Support behaviour interventions, including detentions and pupil mentoring

Work closely with teachers, pastoral leaders and families to ensure a positive experience for pupils

Monitor key areas across the Academy to maintain a calm and welcoming environment

Support vulnerable pupils, including those in receipt of Pupil Premium

Lead break and lunchtime detentions or clubs

Assist with parent events and marketing initiatives

Act as a trained First Aider (training provided if required)

Experience in a school or youth work setting is desirable but not essential
