At Able Personnel, we are recruiting on behalf of a supportive and learner focused training provider for a dedicated 16 to 19 Study Programme Learning Support Assistant to join their team based in Northwich, Crewe and Winsford
This is a full-time role working with young people aged 16 to 19, including learners with additional needs and Education Health and Care Plans. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment, supporting learners both in the classroom and through work placement opportunities.
This role would suit someone compassionate, patient, and passionate about helping young people build confidence, develop independence and progress towards employment.
What you will be doing:
-Provide tailored academic, emotional, and pastoral support to learners aged 16 to 19
-Support learners with additional needs including social, emotional, and special educational needs
-Deliver one to one and small group support within the classroom environment
-Implement and follow strategies outlined in Education Health and Care Plans
-Assist with classroom management to create a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning space
-Monitor learner progress, behaviour, and wellbeing, maintaining accurate records
-Work closely with teaching staff, learning coaches and external professionals
-Support learners into work placements and provide ongoing support throughout placement
-Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, employers, and local authorities
-Help learners develop employability skills and confidence for future progression
-Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, equality, and inclusion always
What we are looking for:
-Experience supporting young people aged 16 to 24, ideally those with additional needs
-Understanding of social, emotional, and mental health needs
-Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with learners and stakeholders
-Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable
Desirable:
-Experience working with Education Health and Care Plans
-Qualification in education, learning support or SEN such as CACHE Level 3
-Knowledge of government funded education or study programmes
-Experience supporting learners into work placements or employment
