Then get in touch! Kingston Barnes is currently recruiting for CNC Setters/Programmers in the Crewkerne area for one of our successful manufacturing clients. They are looking for skilled CNC Setters to join the workforce due to further growth and to be able to hit production targets.

The Role: Our client is looking for an experienced CNC Machine Setter with programming capabilities to set and operate metal cutting machinery to build tools and parts of machinery. Responsibilities include:

  • Set and operate machinery such as lathes, millers, grinders, cutters, presses
  • Inspect workpieces for defects
  • Measure workpieces to determine the accuracy of machine operation
  • Read engineering drawings to determine product specifications and tooling instructions
  • Select, install and adjust different tools on the machines
  • Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly

The Candidate:

  • CNC Setter experience (mills, lathes, grinders etc)
  • CNC Programming experience (if aiming for a higher rate)
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Understanding of production procedures
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and manuals
  • Teamwork and communication skills
