Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is the operating of the CNC lathes within the Hard Turn department.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end contracts negotiation process to meet/exceed business cycle time requirements

  • Ensure that any health and safety guidelines are followed in accordance with the EHS organisational arrangements roles and responsibilities, including maintaining (and improving were possible) 5S standards and ensuring the correct PPE is worn.
  • Following works orders (routing) instructions.
  • Complete works orders in accordance with Kanban system ensuring any issues (e.g. material availability, quality issues, etc.) are reported immediately to line manager.
  • Undertaking in cycle deburring where possible.
  • Changing tool inserts when and where appropriate.
  • Recording output and scrap accurately.
  • Dimensional inspection of components.
  • Involvement in the High Performing Team (HPT).
  • Ensuring that the appropriate TPM is undertaken.

Key Accountability's

  • Ensuring a safe and clean working area.
  • Ensuring excellent quality of components machined.
  • Ensuring cycle times are achieved.
  • Ensuring accurate data for output and scrap rates recorded.
