Job Title: Maintenance Engineer – Injection & Compression Moulding
Location: Crewkerne, Somerset
Salary: £34,000 per annum (£16.79/hour) + Overtime (£25.18/hour)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 7:45am – 6:00pm, Monday to Thursday (39 hours/week)
Overtime: Fridays – paid at time and a half
Holidays: 29 days per year (including bank holidays)

Job Overview:

We are urgently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a busy production site in Crewkerne, Somerset. This is a mechanical and electrical maintenance role, working on:

  • Modern Injection Moulding Machines
  • Compression Moulding Presses
  • Ancillary manufacturing equipment

You will also support general site maintenance, PAT testing, and help ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on moulding machinery and plant equipment
  • Fault find and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns
  • Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Support machinery upgrades, installations, and continuous improvements
  • Carry out PAT testing and site safety checks
  • Ensure Health & Safety policies are followed at all times

Preferred Experience & Skills:

These are desirable but not essential – training may be provided.

  • Experience with Injection and Composite Moulding Presses
  • Time-served or qualified electrician
  • Strong mechanical maintenance background
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge
  • Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Forklift licence (advantageous)
