Maintenance Engineer
Location: Crewkerne, Somerset
Salary: £34,000 per annum (£16.79/hour) + Overtime (£25.18/hour)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 7:45am – 6:00pm, Monday to Thursday (39 hours/week)
Overtime: Fridays – paid at time and a half
Holidays: 29 days per year (including bank holidays)

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our busy production site in Crewkerne, Somerset. This is a key role that requires a candidate with a strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background, specifically in modern Injection Moulding Machines, Compression Moulding Presses, and other ancillary manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for general site maintenance, PAT testing, and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform both planned and reactive maintenance on moulding machinery and plant equipment.
  • Fault find and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
  • Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Support machinery upgrades, installations, and continuous improvements.
  • Carry out PAT testing and site safety checks.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies at all times.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

While these are desirable, they are not essential as training may be provided.

  • Experience with Injection and Composite Moulding Presses.
  • Time-served or qualified electrician.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance background.
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge.
  • Experience working in a modern manufacturing/production environment.
  • A Forklift licence would be advantageous.
