Welder/Fabricator - Crewkerne

Acorn by Synergie is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a growing and reputable engineering firm based in Crewkerne. They are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join their team, specialising in stainless steel and mild steel fabrication. Experience in purge and hygienic welding techniques would be a significant advantage.

Pay Rate:

£15.00 to £20.00 per hour, depending on experience

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 17:00
  • Day shifts only

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for general fabrication and TIG welding of stainless steel pipework, including both circular and square hollow sections. This role involves using a wide range of fabrication tools and equipment to produce high-quality results that meet strict industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • TIG welding and fabricating stainless steel and mild steel components
  • Purge welding and hygienic welding (where applicable)
  • Interpreting and working from engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Using fabrication tools such as saws, drills, grinders, and welding machinery
  • Inspecting and testing welds to ensure they meet required quality standards
  • Participating in daily team meetings and collaborative project work
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the fabrication area and tools

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in stainless steel and mild steel welding
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong fabrication skills, with experience using various tools and machinery
  • Knowledge of hygienic and purge welding techniques (preferred)
  • Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
