Mechanical Fitter
c£40,000 + overtime
Knottingley, West Yorkshire
MC Technical Recruitment are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join an industrial based site in the Knottingley area. This is a hands-on position carrying out maintenance and repairs on fixed and mobile plant, supporting operations and minimising downtime.
As the Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for:
- Performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on static and mobile plant machinery (including engines)
- Conducting inspections and servicing to ensure continuous, safe plant operation
- Ordering tools, equipment, and parts as needed
- Adhering to risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Reporting incidents or near-misses and contributing to a strong safety culture
- Supporting both planned and reactive maintenance alongside the wider engineering team
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally in a heavy industrial environment
- Skilled in fault-finding and diagnostics across engines and plant equipment
- Strong awareness of health & safety practices and compliance
- A self-motivated, reliable team player with good organisational skills
- Competency Management System modules or similar training (desirable)
