Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

We're looking for a Utilities Improvement Engineer to join our site maintenance team and play a key role in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our utilities systems. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business to deliver strategic sustainability goals while ensuring high standards of safety, performance, and innovation.

What the utilities improvement engineer will be doing:

  • Drive a 3% reduction in energy and water usage per volume of milk produced.
  • Support the Compliance Manager in developing infrastructure and procedural improvements.
  • Lead enhancements in utilities maintenance using innovative and safe working methods.
  • Share your expertise and coach team members; act as deputy for the Compliance Manager when required.
  • Collaborate with Group teams to deliver capital expenditure (Capex) improvement projects.

Key Focus Areas:

You'll be working with critical utilities equipment and systems including:

  • Gas-fired steam boilers
  • Air compressors
  • Refrigeration plants (including ammonia systems)
  • Air handling and effluent treatment systems
  • Water and energy monitoring systems

About You:

You are a hands-on, skilled engineer with proven experience managing and improving utilities operations. You thrive on data-driven decision-making and sustainability-focused projects, and you're confident in leading continuous improvement initiatives across complex facilities.

You'll need:

  • Experience in steam generation, refrigeration, and industrial utilities.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive approach to hazard elimination and safe working practices.
  • Project management experience, particularly around sustainability or energy initiatives.
