Bookkeeper

We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team in a permanent, office-based role in Croydon. This position is ideal for someone who is proficient in all areas of bookkeeping, including the preparation of management accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and financial transactions in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Record financial transactions and complete the posting process, verifying that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
  • Bring the books to the trial balance stage, including managing accounts payable and receivable.
  • Complete tax forms and ensure timely submission.
  • VAT returns
  • Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
  • Assist with payroll administration and prepare management accounts.
  • Monitor office expenses and tally and enter cash receipts.
  • Pay vendor invoices and track bank account balances.
  • Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
  • Proven bookkeeping experience.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is preferred but not required.
