Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a great charity. This pivotal role supports the CEO and frontline team, enabling them to focus on the delivery and expansion of our programmes. The Operations Manager will oversee operations, secure funding, and drive strategic development to replicate our impact across new areas in London and the UK.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Trustees to develop and implement the charity’s strategic growth plan.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand our programmes into new boroughs and regions.
  • Lead operational planning for scaling up delivery, ensuring infrastructure, staffing, funding, and compliance are fit for purpose.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with schools, local authorities, funders, and stakeholders in new locations.
  • Monitor the national policy landscape to inform strategic positioning and identify opportunities for influence and systems change.
  • Oversee the operational delivery of all programmes, ensuring quality, consistency, and impact.
  • Serve as the central contact for stakeholders, including funders, government departments, and corporate partners.
  • Lead recruitment and staff development, ensuring alignment with organisational values.
  • Manage annual delivery targets and programme outcomes in line with strategic priorities and funding agreements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior operational or strategic role, ideally within the charity or youth sector.
  • Proven track record in writing successful funding bids and securing charitable income from multiple sources.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Excellent people management skills and experience leading diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage complex operations and meet external audit and reporting standards.
  • Financial acumen, including budget management and forecasting.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, adaptable to a range of audiences.
