Are you an enthusiastic Controls or BMS Engineer looking to build your skills and develop your career in the growing data centre industry?
Clear are working with a leading provider of automation and BMS solutions for mission-critical environments. We're looking for a motivated Data Centre Automation Technician to support ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and small project work within modern data centre facilities.
This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in controls or BMS systems who wants to gain more exposure to SCADA, PLC, and Ignition-based systems, while working alongside experienced engineers and receiving structured technical training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of SCADA and PLC systems in data centre environments.
- Assist in fault diagnosis and repair of Ignition-based front-end applications and PLC Ladder Logic.
- Carry out basic BMS (Trend) and PLC maintenance under supervision, helping ensure system uptime and reliability.
- Take part in site visits, surveys, and documentation tasks (e.g. recording wiring layouts, equipment details, and software versions).
- Work closely with senior engineers to learn about system design, testing, and commissioning processes.
- Provide professional and helpful support to clients, maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
Ideal Candidate:
- Some hands-on experience with BMS, SCADA, or PLC systems (e.g. Trend, Siemens, Schneider, or Allen-Bradley).
- Interest in learning how to configure and support Ignition SCADA systems.
- Basic understanding of control systems, automation, or electrical engineering principles.
- Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and occasionally work flexible hours.
- Keen to progress technically and professionally through structured training and mentoring.
