Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School - Croydon

Up to 120 per day | Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)

Long Term Futures are working with a large and inclusive secondary school in Croydon to appoint a Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral support team from October 2025.

The school has a strong commitment to inclusion, early intervention, and restorative practice. You'll be working across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students with behavioural challenges, low engagement, or SEMH needs - both in and out of class.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in youth work, pastoral care, or behaviour intervention who is passionate about helping young people succeed in a structured and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and group mentoring for students displaying challenging behaviour
* Support student engagement in lessons and help manage transitions across the school day
* Assist with de-escalation strategies, reflection sessions, and reintegration planning
* Liaise with Heads of Year, SENCo and safeguarding staff to ensure joined-up support
* Support the delivery of behaviour intervention programmes and mentoring schemes
* Monitor behaviour logs and contribute to progress tracking

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with secondary-aged students with SEMH or behavioural needs
* Confidence managing behaviour and building trusted student relationships
* A calm, consistent and professional approach
* Background in PRU, inclusion support, youth work or pastoral roles is desirable
* Excellent communication skills and an understanding of safeguarding
