Bright Side Recruitment Ltd. is delighted to be assisting one of the most professional, agile, and innovative fast-growing, family-led lift service companies in their search for an experienced Service Engineer. The company is based in South London.

  • A solid career history gained within a Maintenance, or Electromechanical Engineering environment (Lift industry preferably)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Excellent motivation and a willingness to learn

About The Role

The ideal candidate should have a background of working on various lift makes and models, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other engineers. Applicants who possess hands on electro/mechanical experience gained from within other environments will also be considered.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Attending initial breakdowns
  • Fault finding, diagnosing, and identifying issues
  • Making repairs where possible
  • Escalating more serious issues promptly to Head Office

Your primary duties will include

  • Undertake routine and periodic maintenance at a variety of client sites
  • Promptly responding to periodic emergency service calls from clients
  • Correctly diagnosing any repair requirements and (where possible), conduct on-site repairs
  • Replace, maintain, and service all necessary equipment, machinery, and systems
  • Providing technical support and guidance to clients on maintenance and usage of equipment
  • Document all service and repair activities accurately and maintaining detailed records
  • Collaborating with other team members and departments to ensure seamless service delivery

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Service Engineer or an Electro/Mechanical Engineer, preferably gained within the lift (or similar) industry, or a similar field
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing equipment, machinery, and systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as needed
  • Relevant technical qualifications or certifications are desirable (NVQ 3)

The working schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm
  • Overtime where necessary and required (after 5pm working – at enhanced rate)
  • Weekend work occasionally available – Enhanced rate of pay
  • On Call Emergency rotations, 5pm-8am Mon-Fri / Sat and Sun all day (currently 1 in 3)
