Mechanical Design Engineer – (Building Services Design / MEP)    

Croydon, Surrey

Circa £35k to £50k - Dependent on experience level                                        

Consultancy / Building Services / MEP / Mechanical Design Engineer / Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer / Junior Mechanical Design Engineer

This role is with a friendly established consultancy, specialising in Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health design, with a focus on energy strategies and low carbon design.  Projects include large residential, health care, education, commercial and retail.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical design and project management for various types of projects
• Carry out condition and feasibility surveys
• Liaise with clients and attend meetings with senior engineers or alone, as appropriate.
• Overseeing and supervising the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures
• Work alongside senior design engineers and complete tasks which will further your development and learning as an engineer.
• Using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the systems required for the project

Experience & Qualifications

• Ideally educated to degree level but with a minimum level of HNC in mechanical design or building services
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience of building services design
• Knowledge / experience of calculations, drawings, specifications, etc
• Experience of working in a consultancy, contractor or local authority / housing association in a design capacity
• A UK driving licence would be beneficial
