Learning Support Assistant - PMLD Secondary School
Location: South London
Pay: 95-115 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Start: ASAP

Remedy Education are looking for a compassionate and reliable Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist secondary school supporting students with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties). This is a rewarding opportunity where you'll play an essential role in helping young people with complex needs access learning, communication and independence.

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with PMLD across KS3-KS4

• Assist with sensory-based learning, communication programmes and interactive activities

• Support with personal care, including feeding, changing and mobility (training provided)

• Use specialist equipment such as hoists, switches, sensory tools and communication aids

• Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver individual learning plans

• Help create a safe, calm and positive environment for all students

• Experience within SEN, PMLD, SLD, complex needs or care settings

• Confident with personal care and moving & handling (or willing to be trained)

• Patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships

• Comfortable using sensory resources and supporting non-verbal communication

• Reliable, proactive and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people

• Enhanced DBS required (we can assist if needed)

• Supportive, welcoming school with a highly specialised team

• Ongoing CPD including PMLD, PECS, Makaton, sensory integration and medical training
