Environmental Coordinator

Our client, a well-regarded company in the FMCG sector located in Lichfield, is looking to fill a Fixed Term Contract role for 12 months to cover maternity leave. There is a potential for a permanent position thereafter, making this an excellent opportunity for career advancement in a supportive environment that values talent development.

Key responsibilities - Environmental Coordinator:

  • Arranging general waste collections.
  • Arranging hazardous waste collections and the correct storage of potential environmental hazards.
  • Reporting of waste data and ensuring compliance of providers.
  • Ensuring the site remains spill compliant including drainage routes and interceptors.
  • Ensuring the site maintains ISO 14001 accreditation.
  • Governmental reporting such as SECR, ESOS and CCA.
  • Financial reporting such as PPT, EPR and DRS.
  • Monitoring and optimising energy usage.
  • Ordering of miscellaneous environment-based materials such as grit, spill kits and landscaping supplies.
  • Overseeing the Cycle-to-Work scheme

Skills & experience- Environmental Coordinator:

  • While experience in environmental compliance, waste recovery, and recyclability is advantageous, we are open to candidates willing to learn.
  • Familiarity with UK environmental legislation and strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills will certainly be beneficial.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a genuine passion for sustainability are essential for success in this role.

Working Hours and Benefits - Environmental Coordinator:

  • The position offers a work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with a one-hour lunch break, although some flexibility can be accommodated.
  • The basic salary is 32,926 per annum (15.83 per hour), plus a discretionary bonus of 1,000 annually.
  • Overtime is paid at a rate of 1.5 times on Mondays to Saturdays.
