Creative Arts Support Assistant – Cwmbran
Vision for Education is seeking an enthusiastic and imaginative Creative Arts Support Assistant to join a cluster of supportive ALN schools in Cwmbran. This opportunity is perfect for someone who believes in the power of creativity to inspire, connect, and support young people with additional learning needs.
As a Creative Arts Support Assistant, you will help pupils express themselves through art, music, drama, and movement while promoting confidence, emotional wellbeing, and social skills. Working across both primary and specialist settings, you’ll use creative approaches to make learning accessible and enjoyable for every pupil. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine a passion for the arts with a commitment to inclusive education.
To thrive as a Creative Arts Support Assistant, you should be calm, adaptable, and compassionate, with the ability to build strong, positive relationships. Your creativity and empathy will be key to helping pupils engage, communicate, and develop both emotionally and academically.
Requirements
• Experience working with children or young people in education, care, or creative settings
• Confidence in supporting pupils with additional learning needs, including autism and SEMH
• A positive and flexible attitude with a willingness to try new approaches
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
• A genuine interest in promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and creative learning
Desirable (but not essential):
• A background in art, drama, music, or creative therapy
• Experience in ALN bases, pupil referral units, or alternative provision settings
