About the Role
As a vital member of Gwent Police's Fleet Services team, you will oversee their vehicle workshop stores function. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Purchase Orders & Invoices: Raise purchase orders and process invoices for vehicle parts and equipment. Ensure accuracy by checking received goods against orders and managing returns.
  • Stock Management: Maintain stock and reorder levels using the Tranman stock control system. Keep detailed records in both manual and electronic formats.
  • Support Workshop Staff: Supply vehicle parts and equipment to authorised workshop staff promptly.
  • Liaison & Compliance: Work closely with finance and audit teams on stores accounting issues and conduct stock-taking exercises.
  • Safety & Regulations: Ensure the safe storage of bulk liquids and manage waste disposal according to regulations.
  • Vehicle Management: Collect and deliver vehicles for repairs while maintaining security in workshop parking areas.

What We're Looking For
We seek someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and proactive. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A qualification in Business Administration equivalent to NVQ Level 3 or relevant experience.
  • Experience in store management and supplier performance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Level 2 Welsh language skills (training will be provided).
  • You must have resided within the UK continuously for at least 3 years at the time of application due to police vetting criteria
