Administrator - Public Services - Gwent Police Force

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in public services? Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Administrator to join their dynamic team at Gwent Police Headquarters Llantarnam, Torfaen. This temporary full-time position offers a chance to support the force vetting unit in a meaningful way!

What You'll Do:

As an Administrator, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative and coordination support to the vetting unit. Your responsibilities will include:

Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence with vetting applicants, ensuring clear communication with both new and existing employees.Coordinating and gathering information to input into the Vetting system for presentation to Vetting Officers.Conducting regular audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of information within the Vetting systems.Monitoring the vetting inbox and addressing any vetting-related queries, directing information to the appropriate team member as needed.Sending out the correct vetting forms to applicants and verifying the completeness of their submissions before uploading into the vetting database.Keeping track of form returns and sending reminders when expiry dates are approaching.Assisting in the production of documentation, ensuring accuracy and grammatical correctness.Handling vetting enquiries via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions with internal and external applicants.Organising, scheduling, and attending events, meetings, and other resources as directed.

Who You Are:

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

A minimum of five grade A-C GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English, or relevant experience (NVQ Level 2 Business Administration is a plus!).Previous administrative support experience within a multi-site organisation.Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to tasks.Strong oral and written communication skills, capable of effectively conveying information to diverse audiences.Familiarity with office management principles, methods, and procedures.An understanding of the Data Protection Act and Vetting Authorised Professional practise.Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Welsh language skills at Level 2 and above are desirable (training will be provided).
