Long Term Futures are working with a well-established secondary school in Barking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to start in September 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers (QTS) seeking classroom continuity, or for graduates and aspiring educators looking to gain hands-on experience before starting teacher training or their ECT year.
You'll be responsible for supervising whole classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged, on-task and supported in line with school expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver pre-set lesson plans across a variety of subjects at KS3 and KS4
* Manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
* Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and conduct
* Ensure learning continues smoothly in the absence of regular teachers
* Support pupils with queries and maintain a calm, structured classroom atmosphere
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* A degree or relevant subject background (QTS holders welcome)
* Experience working with secondary students in an educational or tutoring setting
* Strong classroom presence and confident behaviour management skills
* An interest in teaching, education, or school-based support roles
* The ability to build rapport quickly and lead a class independently
