Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – KS2 

An inclusive and forward-thinking junior academy in Dagenham (RM8) is looking to appoint a resilient and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) across Key Stage 2. This role is ideal for someone confident in supporting behaviour, focus, and emotional regulation in a structured classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ADHD in KS2

  • Support pupils to remain engaged, focused, and regulated during lessons

  • Implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies

  • Assist with emotional regulation, transitions, and organisational skills

  • Adapt learning tasks to suit pupils’ attention and learning needs

  • Encourage independence, confidence, and self-esteem

  • Provide feedback to teachers and contribute to progress reviews

The Successful Candidate Will
  • Have experience supporting pupils with ADHD or challenging behaviour

  • Be confident, consistent, and calm in managing behaviour

  • Understand the importance of routine, structure, and clear boundaries

  • Work effectively as part of a wider SEN and teaching team
